Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 3, 2026
Muse IQ LLC ("Piki," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Piki app, website at piki.nyc, and related services (the "Service"), how we use it, and your rights with respect to it.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and any profile information you provide.
Music listening and rating data. This is core to the Service. We collect every song you listen to through Piki, how long you listened, and how you rated it (like, dislike, superlike, skip). This data is the foundation of our recommendation model and prediction market.
Prediction activity. We collect all bets you place, including the song, your prediction, the amount wagered, and the outcome.
Wallet and payment information. We collect your USDC wallet address and transaction records for payouts. We do not store private keys. If identity verification is required, we collect the information necessary to comply with applicable law.
Device and usage data. We automatically collect information about the device you use (type, operating system, unique device identifiers), your IP address, browser type, and how you navigate and interact with the Service.
Communications. If you contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and improve the Service, including our music recommendation algorithm and prediction market mechanics
- To process predictions, calculate payouts, and facilitate USDC transfers
- To personalize your experience — including which songs we show you
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
- To send you service-related communications (account updates, payout confirmations, policy changes)
- To comply with legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements where applicable
- To conduct research and analysis to improve our music quality measurement models (see our published research)
We will not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
3. Music Data and Research
Your song ratings and listening behavior are among the most valuable data Piki collects — both for improving the Service and for academic research into music quality and recommendation systems. Aggregated, de-identified rating data may be used in research publications. Individual-level data is never published without explicit consent.
4. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information with:
- Service providers who assist us in operating the Service (cloud hosting, analytics, payment infrastructure), who are bound by confidentiality obligations
- Blockchain networks — USDC transactions are recorded on a public blockchain. Wallet addresses and transaction amounts are publicly visible on-chain
- Legal and regulatory authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of Piki and its users
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer to the acquiring entity
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and activity data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time (see Section 8 below), subject to retention required by law.
6. Security
We use industry-standard security measures — including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your wallet credentials safe.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly. Contact us at sasha@piki.nyc if you believe this has occurred.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email us at sasha@piki.nyc. We will respond within 30 days. Note that some requests may be limited by our legal obligations or legitimate business interests.
Marketing communications: You may opt out of non-essential email communications at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.
9. Cookies and Tracking
The Piki website uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain session state, remember your preferences, and analyze traffic. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect functionality. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals at this time.
10. International Users
Piki is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We take steps to ensure adequate protection for international data transfers.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information). To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us at sasha@piki.nyc.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or via email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
